ISIC-International student identification card

 

ISIC card is the only document which is acknowledged worldwide and is a proof that you are a student. This card gives you the right to take advantage of discounts which exist for all young people in the world. For more information, please visit: http://www.istc.org; www.isic.bg  

Who can obtain an ISIC card?
ISIC card can be issued only to regular students (and students in international universities),
a person with a doctor’s degree, post-graduate student, interns and regular post-graduate workers, students after their 7th grade at school, students in educational courses (mainly language) organized by a legal educational institution in Bulgaria or abroad with a duration of studies of not less than 12 weeks and 15 hours of study a week.

Validity period:
Valid from 1st September until 31st December the following year (ex. From 01.09.2009 – 31.12.2010)

Advantages:
The owners of ISIC have the access to special student tariffs when flying (SATA) as well as all discounts (approximately 200 000), contracted all over the world (including in Bulgaria) in areas such as:
  • Traveling
  • Accommodation in hostels and hotels
  • Visiting museums and cultural landmarks
  • In restaurants and places to eat
  • Shopping, sports and beauty saloons
  • Services, computers and telecommunication
  • Education
What do you need to have to be issued an ISIC card?
Regular students in Bulgaria should have:
  • A student proof signed by the educational institution where he/she studies
  • Original student book + copy of first and last page
Students abroad:
  • The relevant student proof
Pupils:
  • Personal ID or official note
  • Pupil’s book
For post-graduate students and doctor’s degree:
  • The relevant official document
For students in different courses:
  • A document stating the duration of the course and the daily hours of study
You should also have:
  • 1 passport-sized photo
  • Identification card or passport
  • 12 Bulgarian leva
